David Lockwood (Director)
David co-founded the Bike Shed and has been co-director since it opened, assuming full responsibility in February 2013. Prior to the Bike Shed, David worked as an actor and director in Britain, France and Palestine. He has led on all creative decisions at the Bike Shed and directed productions of The Dumb Waiter, Beanfield, A Christmas Carol: Smoke & Mirrors, Playing with Snails and Bunnies, amongst others. David is responsible for the artistic and strategic decisions in the organisation, and ultimately responsible for all programming. He can be contacted here.
Jack Dean (General Manager)
Jack joined the Bike Shed in August 2012, having completed an MA in Arts Administration & Cultural Policy at Goldsmiths. Prior to working at the Bike Shed, he produced the National Team Poetry Slam and two national tours of his own spoken word shows, as well as working for Fuel and the Arcola Theatre. He has implemented the theatre's membership and individual giving schemes. Jack is responsible for the administrative leadership of the organisation. He can be contacted here.
Sam Hollis-Pack (Technical and Operations Manager)
Sam is a graduate of the University of Exeter, he has worked on shows at Exeter’s Northcott and Phoenix, took a show to Edinburgh and recently worked on Animated Exeter’s ambitious Riddles project. He has been mentored by David Miller at the Theatre Royal and Drum, Plymouth. He can be contacted here.
David Williams (bar manager)
David has managed the Bike Shed's bar since December 2011. Also an acclaimed film-maker, David is responsible for all events that take place in the bar. He can be contacted here.
Callum Elliott-Archer (Framework Producer)
Callum set up and ran Scratch nights at the Bike Shed in 2011 and has been running the artist development side of the organisation since 2012. He also works as an actor and makes work through his own company, Worklight Theatre. Callum is responsible for artist development and can be contacted here.
Chloe Whipple (Make Space Producer)
Chloe set up In Your Space which is now part of the wider Make Space programme. She trained at East 15 and has worked as an actor for Kaleider and the Bike Shed, amongst others. Chloe also makes work through her own company, Theatre Rush. She can be contacted here.
Natalie McGrath (Artistic Associate)
Natalie is a playwright. Her production of Coasting was performed at Bristol Old Vic in 2011 and she is currently working on two large scale projects - Oxygen for Dreadnought South West, and This City Centre for Blindditch. She also works as a theatre lecturer at Plymouth University. Natalie provides artistic support and leadership to the organisation.
Jessica Beck (Artistic Associate)
Jessica is a freelance Director. She directed the acclaimed Bike Shed/Viva Voce co-production of the Exeter Blitz Project, and has also directed productions of Up the Gary (Edinburgh, Theatre 503 and tour) and Alice’s Adventures in the New World (Old Red Lion and tour), amongst others. She recently completed her PhD at the University of Exeter. Jessica also provides artistic support and leadership to the organisation.
The Bike Shed's board consists of Emma Stenning (chair), David Prescott, Paul Bull and Penny Scott.
