Volunteering

Our volunteers are an incredibly important part of The Bike Shed Theatre team. At the moment, the main volunteer opportunities are based in our box office. This is a great way to work in a creative, friendly environment and has a host of perks including:

  • A free ticket to every show you volunteer on Box Office for
  • A free drink every night when you volunteer
  • Training on our ticketing system and experience working in a vibrant arts organisation

‘People often say to me oh you’re so good to put time into volunteering, but actually it’s completely selfish!  The shows at The Bike Shed are varied and change frequently so I get to see a bunch of stuff from all over the country.  I just have to volunteer for 1 hour to get a free drink and see a show so I don’t have to accumulate hours.  I can schedule myself the month before, week before or week of.  It’s central and easy to get to.  And I feel like I’m giving back.  It’s ace!’ Jocelyn Spencer-Mills

To volunteer at The Bike Shed all you’ll need is a strong interest in theatre and a supportive attitude towards developing the arts in Exeter, Devon and the South West.

Box Office Volunteers

Our box office volunteers are often the first person a new audience member might meet when they visit The Bike Shed Theatre. It’s important that our team are friendly and welcoming and can provide an efficient, informative service when booking tickets and giving information about performances.

If you’re interested in becoming a Box Office Volunteer, please read our Volunteer Role Description. This will give you a good idea of the type of person we’re looking for and what you would be doing.
