SCRATCH

SCRATCH is a platform where artists can show their work-in-progress pieces and get immediate feedback from the audience.

We are aiming to help new and emerging artists by giving them a platform where they can take their experiments out of the rehearsal room and place them in front of an audience. All experiments are welcome, big or small.

SCRATCH will mix artists from each and every discipline together, resulting in a fusion of styles that will excite audiences. We will invite that audience to be a part of the action by offering them the chance to give the performers their feedback so that they can improve their practice.

The SCRATCH nights will be taking place in the Bike Shed Bar in a relaxed and informal atmosphere.

Triple Theatre: The 100m Sprint

The 100m Sprint explores the childhood memories of 3 sporting elites (Rachel Gibbens, Jessamy Lambert, Louise White), delving into the sparks that set their sporting ambitions in motion, what strives them to succeed and what pitfalls and humiliations have challenged them along the way. A family-friendly, comic piece of entertainment, The 100m Sprint is more than just a race.

Baram Theatre: 4 wALLs

Freedom and restriction – opposites or complements? 4wALLs presented by Baram Theatre is a brutal and honest response to alcoholism. Theatrically, the actor plays with organic action in the present moment within a tightly structured performance score experimenting with the space between immediate responsiveness and thought provoked action. A fundamental element to the piece is the playfulness regarding the distortion, abilities and irregularities of the human voice.

Deirdre Dee: Our Marie

In Our Marie, Marie Lloyd's life unfolds from early success and brushes with the Victorian Establishment to direct action in leading the Music Hall strike of 1906 and being threatened with deportation from the USA on the grounds of moral turpitude. Well researched including famous songs lesser known material.

Laura Roberts: Stupid Cat!

Lorna and Frank have hit a rut in their marriage. Frank works a lot, the kids are always out and Lorna finds herself with too much time to dwell upon the past. But at least she has the cat for company.

A light-hearted portrayal of family life and faded dreams.
